With Summer here (hard to tell if its Summer with the cloudy weather we've been having, isn't it?), we have a lot of great activities and events in store for the Summer!

We have "Tai Chi at the Garden", a drop in Tai Chi class throughout the Summer at the Seattle Chinese Garden. See all the info here:

Our kids Summer Series classes will run from July 9th to August 29th, mondays and wednesdays. We have a lot of great activities....duct tape crafts, bullwhip cracking, blowgun targeting, kung fu, self defense, and much more! For information and to pre-register your child, click here:

July is "Bring a Friend" month. Current students are welcome to bring a friend to class. If your friend decides to join our classes, they are awarded with a discount on their first 2 months of training, and the student who referred them will earn "Kung Fu bucks" that are redeemable toward tuition, uniform items, etc. Brand new students can refer friends and earn their own "Kung Fu bucks" as well!

We'll be having Mighty Mites and Juniors kung fu exams and rank promotions in July and August......

The PAWMA (Pacific Association of Women Martial Artists) will hold their annual training camp in Berkeley CA August 3-5. Congratulations to our assistant instructor Lisa Lavoy, who was voted in by the Association as a PAWMA Board member!

On August 11th, Sifu DeJesus will be traveling to Costa Mesa CA, representing Washington State as an Alumni member of the "Masters Hall of Fame". She was inducted in 2011 into the Masters Hall of Fame with the "Silver Lifetime Achievement Award".  Information about the Masters Hall of Fame is here:

More events and happenings to be added as they come up!!

Studio moving to West Seattle

Posted by seattlewushu on January 27, 2009 at 2:19 PM Comments comments (1)

After a year in the Georgetown district in Seattle, We'll be moving back to West Seattle!

As many of you already know, I've taught Martial Arts in the West Seattle area for approximately 20 years, before our last building was torn down. Finding a new place to hold classes was difficult, but I found the location in Georgetown. While Georgetown is a wonderful area, it  somehow was missing the neighborhood atmosphere that I so knew and loved.  When the space in West Seattle opened up for lease, I jumped at the chance. Ironically, the space is directly across the street from our very first commercial location!

Our new address will be: 5659 California Ave. SW Seattle, WA 98136 (the former "Satellite Auto Glass" building).

We will be moving the weekend of February 6, 7, and 8th.

I'm excited!  If you're a West Seattleite, spread the word!!  Many of our Kung Fu and Wushu brothers and sisters had to forego attending class because of the Georgetown let's let those brothers and sisters know we're back!

Updates to website

I've added a sidebar to the home page of our store/forum site. It will feature any new updates on the site, such as new store products, new blog entries, new forum posts, uploaded videos, pictures, and latest news.

Take a few minutes and join this site! Just click "register" on the right hand sidebar. You'll automatically be added to our store mailing list to be the first to hear of special offers and specials.

Also, you may register on our discussion forum. Questions and articles about Wushu, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, weapons, etc. are welcome on this discussion forum.  I will be checking the forum each day so if you have questions about training, Wushu, Kung Fu, Tai Chi or anything else, I'll do my best to answer them. However, forums are a community effort, so if someone asks a question and you know the answer, go ahead and answer.

More store/forum updates soon!  Keep your eyes peeled for the improvements!
